Malaysia Weather
Malaysia is a peninsula with a tropical climate, where the temperatures range between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. With a humidity of about 90%, it can get a bit sticky at times! Sarawak, Sabah and the East Coast of Malaysia have monsoons between the months of October and February. The West Coast has a peak monsoon season between September and December. The monsoon in Malaysia is fed by the southwest and northeast monsoon winds and consists of short cloudbursts. Thankfully there are only brief interruptions in its sunny climate. However, if you are headed towards the beaches on the East Coast, do avoid the months between November and January, as this is the real monsoon season in Malaysia.
Take care in the Tropics
It takes a while to adjust to the heat and humidity of the tropics. Lie low for a short while as soon as you arrive. Try and remain indoors during noon when the sun is at its zenith. And if you are still hot and bothered, head for the hills, which are pleasant and cool.
